A few weeks ago Cass began creating “Le Chat Noir” on Link Dance Company. The inspiration for this work is an interesting melange of femmes fatales characters from film noir, the movies Fight Club and Rize and the genre of music called “electro-swing”.
This year’s Link company consists of 12 girls, all of whom will be developing their own unique character in the work.

Cass’s work is known for it’s very particular movement vocabulary – not always easy to pick up – however the girls at link are doing a terrific job with it.
The work in its entirety will be 20 minutes long and can be seen at Link’s October season called “Over and Out”. A special preview of the first seven minutes, with a cast of five, is making an appearance at AICD’s Dance Creation in Melbourne on the 20th and 21st of August.
