The dulcet sounds of Dan Kaplan are back in the Ludwig studio! We have begun our long awaited development of Soul Searching, henceforth referred to as Touching Blue.
Ms Spratling and her dynamism are back and in addition we also have half the contents of Cass and Emma’s home to serve as props.
It’s been a great first week and we’ll keep yo updated on our progress…

Ludwig received the wonderful and exciting news this week that our grant application to the WA Department of Culture and the Arts was successful. This was an application to develop Cass’s Soul Searching into a full length work which we are doing in collaboration with the playwright and actor Humphrey Bower.
Humphrey is currently appearing in the role of Buckingham in Melbourne Theatre Company’s production of Richard III until the 12th of June.
We’ve had a lot of contact with the altogether brilliant harmonica player Dan Kaplan and will be using more of his music in the work as well as other composers and musicians to create an awe-inspiring soundtrack.
Shortly we’ll be putting a “rehearsal room” on our website where you’ll be able to spy on all our creative goings-on in the studio!
New video: A Little Bit Of Betty Blue
April 30th, 2010 by EmmaEarly this year, excited by the beautiful empty space of the warehouse Ludwig will soon be moving into, Emma, Tim and Cass ventured out late one night to do a little filming with the Canon 5D Mark II. We drove our cars in to provide lighting and lit a row of little candles for atmosphere. It was all very dusty and raw but with the music from the Betty Blue soundtrack and some of Dan Kaplan’s haunting harmonica echoing around the space we were very inspired. Sensitively edited together, this little video gives you a taste of that evening.
