Jo Pollitt

If you’re up-to-date with our blog posts you will know that over the last few months Emma has been working with Jo Pollitt. Read about Jo, her career and her thoughts on dance in our next interview. Meanwhile here is a little more about this multi-talented woman:

Jo has worked as dancer, choreographer and writer for over 15years.  She holds an MA (Creative Arts – WAPPA) and has worked with various companies including Tasdance and Terrapin Theatre. She was the Co-director of the 1999 Hobart Fringe Festival and curator of Boiler Room, a National improvisation festival in 2002-03.  She has created many works – the most recent, re-render a solo for Chrissie Parrott was presented at His Majesty’s Theatre in 2009.  She has authored several published articles and is currently working on a new dance script. Jo lectures in dance improvisation at WAAPA and is mentor to several WA artists including AIVDT (Anything is Valid Dance Theatre) and Rhiannon Newton. Her current practice is located around questions of distance and intimacy.
